In Chapter 3, we see our reasonable Christian response to The Hope we have in Christ. Prayer, speaking God’s Word, keeping God’s commands and reproof to help those who are not walking rightly are among the topics addressed. We also examine some of the process God used to have The Bible written down and conclude with a brief examination of Grace (God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense).

Out of the 774,747 words in the Bible – perhaps no single word of God’s Word is as comforting as the Greek word “maranatha” meaning “the lord is coming.” II Thessalonians 2 deals with that very concept – the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Specifically, we will see the addressing of false teachings that his Second Coming has already happened, what the Day of the Lord will be and how The Hope gives Christians comfort today.

II Thessalonians 1

In II Thessalonians we will see two things. First, that the Church there was not perfect but a model Church and one to be emulated. Also we see how the book is doctrinal about the Christian’s hope – the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Chapter one we will see specifically how God will be the righteous judge of those who oppress His people today, and how we who stand for God today will then be glorified.

As you read throughout the Bible, you see that God’s great men are also men of prayer. From Moses to Christ, prayer is large part of their walk with God. As Christians today, prayer plays an integral part of living and with all the benefits promised to us in God’s Word in prayer, we too should be people of prayer.
