Able Ministers

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

May 13th, 2010

It is God that makes us able ministers, not ourselves. Knowing this takes away what would seem to be our overwhelming personal criticisms and flaws. When we give God our heart along with our “everything” including our flaws, he then imbues us with ability and is able to teach and mature us. We see that there were many great people of God who held their own self doubts at times but God’s love, compassion, and infinite ability was more then enough to overcome the walls of their own seeming limitations; that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

What are you looking for?

Most often when you seek for something you will find something, though most often the thing you find will not be what you sought. With God it is different; it is an absolute assurity that when you seek him you will find him. He asks us to “taste and see”, God will prove his goodness and love to you. When we seek God we will find a refuge; everyone who asks receives; everyone who seeks will find; when anyone knocks it is open unto him; when we seek God we will find a future and a hope.

Let God Be Your Fortress

Man likes to be comfortable. He likes to build up walls that he thinks are secure through material things, personal relationships, ideas about the world and how it should be run. But man very often misses spiritual realities that only God can make him aware of. Like many of the great believers before us, such as Jonah, Abraham, Moses, Paul, Peter, we should step out of our comfort zone and stand in God’s strength and knowledge. “The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in From this time forth, and even for evermore.” – Psalms 121:8

Psalm 18:1-2
Jonah 1: – 2:10
Exodus 14:1-16
Acts 27:10-25, 29-41
Psalm 121:1-8
Psalm 125:1
