Acts 10 – Prayer is the Hinge to the Door of Utterance

Friday, August 20th, 2010

One of the great privileges and responsibilities in our Christian lives is telling people of Christ Jesus so they too can be saved. With a strong desire to speak, the next requirement is opportunity and people to speak to – an open door of utterance. Two great lesson from God’s Word is that prayer facilitates those opportunities and God has amazing power to connect those praying to share the Gospel and those lost souls longing to know God.

May 20th, 2010

This is a deeper look at the Book of Jonah and how it is relevant to believers today.

Jonah was a prophet who received a command from God but did not want to see God’s will come to pass. In this four chapter book, Jonah goes through a progression from “Jonah the Runner” to “Jonah the Fainter” to accomplishing God’s will and seeing a merciful and forgiving God save an entire city to finally “Jonah the Pouter.” Throughout this book, we see Jonah as a person struggling with his emotions and irrationality but moreover how God is faithful to accomplish His Word and to not leave Jonah alone.

Walking in Balance

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

November 19, 2009

God has communicates to His people through the Spirit and through His Word. God gives power to His people through the Spirit and through His Word. To receive the Spirit of God and know its power a person must know the Word of God. Actions taken on the known Word can be greatly accentuated through the power of the Holy Spirit. Certain miracles can only be accomplished through the use of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the Word of God and the Spirit of God are both equally important and synergistic in a Christian’s stand on the Word. They must be kept in balance and then a person can truly experience the full power and joy of God’s loving kindness.

Prove God through Prayer

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

October 22, 2009

Our God is a merciful, compassionate God whose will toward us is great things; health, prosperity, deliverance, and salvation to name a major few. When you are getting to know God, a major way to do so is to prove God’s intentions and power towards you through prayer. God says that anything we ask according to His Will (which we know through the Bible) He hears, and because He hears we will have what we ask for. So don’t make prayer a last resort and don’t underestimate it; ask God early and often, become God’s good friend through prayer.
