Our God is a righteous one who has great things laid out for us. Our job is to look to him, no cling to him, in all situations that arise in our lives. A great example of this truth is the prophet Habakkuk who, despite the dire situation Judah found themselves in through their own doings, repeatedly asked the Lord to spare them. In the most dire circumstances we should still rejoice in the Lord knowing that God will come through for us.

It is God that makes us able ministers, not ourselves. Knowing this takes away what would seem to be our overwhelming personal criticisms and flaws. When we give God our heart along with our “everything” including our flaws, he then imbues us with ability and is able to teach and mature us. We see that there were many great people of God who held their own self doubts at times but God’s love, compassion, and infinite ability was more then enough to overcome the walls of their own seeming limitations; that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Judges 6:11-16
II Timothy 3:14-17

God describes himself in amazing detail in the bible and as we find out more about who God is we find out all the qualities that make him great. Not only is God great, but he wants great things for us and has the ability to provide them. He has hand made us to be individuals and members of the Body of Christ, and provides key ways in which we can walk in good works.

When we look at our problems we tend to see numbers; the number of people against us, the number of dollars we don’t have, the number of problems facing us. We don’t see a solution because we are only one in and of ourselves. God, on the other hand, can do above and beyond all we can ask or think. When we choose God we become more than conquerors. Our reality is that through Christ we are triumphant in all situations. Between you and God you constitute a majority; you are more than any number.
